LOS ANGELES, CA – Mestizo Beat is very pleased to announce that their latest

When asked about their group and the latest release, co-founder Aquiles
Magaña states “The band is highly influenced by rhythmic instrumental music. This 45
dives into the region of Cameroon and Nigeria blending elements from the Afro-cuban
Funk scene, reminiscent of what was happening in the 1970 ‘s!”
Mestizo Beat is a Los Angeles based band blending the styles of Afro-beat,
Afro-Cuban, Funk, Hip-Hop, Soul & Jazz. The band was formed by the Magaña
Brothers, lead guitarist Aquiles Magaña and drummer Agustin Magaña in Topanga,

Brown, Fred Wesley and The J.B.’s, Parliament Funkadelic, The Meters, and WAR.
Their new A side/B side vinyl 45 is a follow up from their previous single,
Featherbed Lane released on Plaid Room Records/Colemine Records in 2018, which
was recorded by Sergio Rios (Orgone) at Killion Sound. The latest offering was
recorded at the bands studio, The Roadhouse, in Topanga, CA with mixing by Tim
Felten (Surefire Soul Ensemble) at The Kitchen II.

Mestizo Beat rounds out their eclectic sound with the addition of monster bassist
Jose Castro and phenomenal percussionist Pedro Flores. In addition to this release,
the core band has lent it’s talents to back LA Soul/Funk Musician Cliff Beach on his
latest single “Confident”. Stay tuned for Mestizo Beat has plenty of new material that is
in the finishing stages of being released and available for listening. This is a band to not
miss live. Their passion for this music is a force that can not be denied, igniting the
dance floor into an electric frenzy, leaving your soul with the vibration of love.
